Chris Simon suspended for a minimum of 25 games is now reporting here that Chris Simon has been suspended for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs or a minimum of 25 games. If the Islanders play fewer than 10 games in the playoffs this year Simon will be required to sit out additional games next season to meet the minimum 25 game suspension.

I'm not sure that this is enough. I was hoping for something closer to half of a season, not a quarter of one.

If anyone was watching the Capitals vs Islanders game last night I hope you didn't miss Donald Brashear's celebration of his game winning goal. He knocked out former Caps teammate Brendan Witt just seconds after scoring Washington's second goal. He only drew a minor penalty on the play but it will be interesting to see if there is any supplementary discipline considering the number of incidents in the past few weeks.
