TSN.ca is now reporting here that Chris Simon has been suspended for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs or a minimum of 25 games. If the Islanders play fewer than 10 games in the playoffs this year Simon will be required to sit out additional games next season to meet the minimum 25 game suspension.
I'm not sure that this is enough. I was hoping for something closer to half of a season, not a quarter of one.
If anyone was watching the Capitals vs Islanders game last night I hope you didn't miss Donald Brashear's celebration of his game winning goal. He knocked out former Caps teammate Brendan Witt just seconds after scoring Washington's second goal. He only drew a minor penalty on the play but it will be interesting to see if there is any supplementary discipline considering the number of incidents in the past few weeks.

Chris Simon Suspension NOT Decided yet
There are several reports floating around the various news organizations today suggesting that the NHL has suspended Chris Simon for 22 games (15 regular season and 7 playoff games).
This story is definitely erroneus. NBCSports.com reported here that according to the MSG Network Simon had received that 22 game suspension.
Similarly TSN.ca also reported earlier today the same story but has since printed a retraction on their website here.
Colin Campbell did meet with Chris Simon today but has not handed down a ruling as of yet.
